I’m happy to share that Punggol Waterfront Northshore has been invited to take part in Kindness Day SG 2026 as part of the Heartland Activations.
We will be representing our estate at Plantation Plaza, where we will be sharing our journey and experiences in building a neighbourly community.
This is something I’m personally very proud of, not because of recognition, but because it reflects what we have been building together as residents.
For this segment, we have been invited to share practical experiences from the ground. Not theories, not frameworks, but real stories.
Our focus will be simple:
Giving children the childhood they deserve.
In many ways, this reflects what our estate has naturally become.
You see it when:
Kids gather downstairs to play
Families stay a little longer after events
Neighbours begin to recognise one another
These are small things, but they are the foundation of a real community.
We will be sharing how our estate:
Brings people together through simple, consistent activities
Creates spaces where residents feel comfortable to participate
Encourages ground-up involvement rather than top-down planning
But more importantly, we will be sharing the moments that cannot be planned.
The conversations.
The friendships.
The sense of belonging.
In a fast-paced environment like Singapore, it is easy for neighbourhoods to become just places we stay in.
But it does not have to be that way.
Through small efforts, and with the support of residents, we can create something different.
A place where:
People know each other
Children grow up together
Kindness is something we practise, not just talk about
As we prepare for this sharing, I see it as an opportunity not just to represent our estate, but to reflect on what we have built together.
And more importantly, what we can continue to grow.
Because at the end of the day, a strong neighbourhood is not created by one person or one committee.
It is created by all of us.
